Nancy's Story
Nancy Carlson, Ph.D. OTR/L , Founder and principal aging-in-space specialist,
is a 3rd generation resident of Leisure World.
​
She has over 40 years as an occupational therapy practitioner serving families in many different capacities. She trained as an aging-in-place specialist in 2020. Perhaps, her most important credential is that she served as the residential caregiver for her aging parents and provided in-home hospice services for both.

She is currently an Associate Professor at Elizabethtown College where she teaches both undergraduate and graduate occupational therapy students.
Mission
Our mission is to help residents of Leisure World and residents of Montgomery County live better in their homes through adaptations in environments and occupations.
Vision
Our vision is to transform senior retirement communities to empower individuals to live more safely in their homes and to participate more in the activities that support a meaningful quality of life.
